Alto Ski Shop was started nearly 30 years ago on the premise that nothing beats personalized service, experience, and attention to detail. While many shops promise special deals, skiers are often unaware of the hassels occured. Making the right choice  based on loaction alone is not always the best course of action for skiers and riders, it is convenient not carrying your ski equipment up and down the mountain, but it is no fun waiting in long lines. We hear too many stories of skiers and riders regretting that they didn't call us first. During busy times we may have a short wait, but never long lines that you may have on the mountain.

Don and Jodee recognized the need for experienced staff, ski and snowboard fitters. While many shops succumb to the pressure of bargain basement, Don recognized the niche for knowledgeable experienced  professionals. He knew that skiers and riders would appreciate the values of a full-service ski/snowboard shop. Many skiersand riders learned that they actually saved money by seeking the help of experienced  professionals. Don wanted to highlight this fact and decided to call his shop, "Alto Ski Shop".
